About The Tour
A trip through Manchuria is where the journey starts and where the birthplace of the Qing Dynasty happened. See the beginnings of the last dynasty in China, the Qing (1636-1912).
Starting at the founder's and first emperor's birthplace in Hetu-Ala, Nurachi's story begins. The northeastern province of Liaoning has a lot to offer from the great wall that kept foreign invaders away on the North Korean border during one of the first dynasties (the Min), to ancient Buddhist mountains while returning back to the city.
Emperor Nurhaci and his son Huang Taiji, who was the second emperor, are buried in Shenyang. The city remained very close to the early Qing rulers in Beijing who would visit to pay respects to their ancestors and stay a few times a year.
Shenyang’s rivers and tributaries helped the “Jurchen” (Manchurian) tribes access the region and gave them the livelihood to survive with water and nature.
Mukden, the Manchurian name of Shenyang, was the first place where the Japanese attacked China entering into WW2. It was the starting point of the colonization of China during the second world war as it was a good access and vantage point to Beijing.
